Calm Breathing for Kids - Bubble Breaths and Blowing out the Candles
Everybody wants their children to feel calm and relaxed, we know how important it is for their overall wellbeing, improved focus and educations right?
We breathe all day every day, its automatic and keeps us alive. However when we practice a particular type of breathing called calm or deep breathing it provides a whole host of benefits. If we can encourage our kids to practice calm breathing it will support them in the following ways:
* it triggers the parasympathetic system - which is the system that prepares the body for relaxation, sleep and rest
* it reduces stress hormones in the body
* decreases heart rate
* promotes wellbeing and relaxation/sense of calm
* helps focus
Deep breathing a skill we need to learn and practice, so here are two activities for calm breathing called "Blow Out the Candles" and "Bubble Breaths" techniques.
