Relaxation breathing is important for wellbeing as it settles the nervous system down and helps bring us back to a state of calm. Its very easy for our little people to become dysregulated, so its integral that we teach them skills to help them manage big feelings.

These gorgeous cards are written by Australian psychologist, parenting expert and mum Rachel Tomlinson. They include instructions and tips for how to use them, 14 x breathing exercises aimed at engaging kids and 2 x activities that match the cards. It is housed in a drawstring bag for safe keeping.

Breathing cards are perfect for building your childs coping skills and can be used in advance (practice makes perfect, and learning how to do calm breathing means its easier for them to remember this skill when upset) or to try and manage some big emotions. Calm breathing helps calm the body so can be used as a tantrum or meltdown is building, when a child is worried or frustrated, feeling agitated or wound up or even just to build a sense of calm.

This resource is ideal for families to use at home, but also in professional settings such as; play therapy, counselling, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), speech therapy, occupational therapy, early intervention, special educational needs and autism.
